Jane
& Simon Henty bought Burford House in 1996 having fallen
for both the building and the historic and picturesque town of Burford,
they decided that this was where we wanted to live and work.
Burford House, a Cotswold Town House Hotel is a 17th century landmark
on the High Street in Burford, and is one of the most highly regarded small
hotels in the lovely Cotswolds, one of Britains most outstandingly beautiful
areas.
They
are helped by a small team of enthusiastic and caring local staff most of
whom have been with them for quite a while and between them they aim to
create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, really good bedrooms and bathrooms
and the best breakfasts, light lunches and afternoon teas.
There are eight bedrooms, all decorated individually.
Some have queen or king size beds, others overlook the garden and some
the evocative high street. They all have antique furniture, pictures
and porcelain, gleaming bathrooms with huge tubs and power showers,
up to date magazines and readable books plus lots of thoughtful extras
not often found in hotels including satellite television and a Teddy
Bear in every room.
Luxury and comfort is of course not confined to the bedrooms, downstairs
guests will find two intimate sitting rooms. There is a log fire and honour
bar in one, whilst the garden room is bright and has doors out to the courtyard
garden.
