Visitors to Burford Woodcraft in person, can take the opportunity to browse in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of one of only a handful of galleries specialising in wood.

Housed in a fine old building of Cotswold stone on a high street of listed architecture they have been promoting contemporary British woodwork since 1979.
Looking down the hill into the Windrush valley they are surrounded by the same beautiful rolling limestone landscape that saw the growth of this historic town with the wealth of the wool trade and the birth of the Arts and Crafts movement with William Morris.

From small beginnings with just a few makers Burford Woodcraft now exhibit the work of over eighty, one of whom, Robert Lewin is a partner in BW. He is a furniture designer-maker and like the other craftsmen and women is skilled in using a variety of techniques and finishes to produce high quality pieces illustrating the natural beauty and versatility of the wood, be it a bookmark or a chest of drawers.
