Ever
since the foundation of the Arts & Crafts Movement in the late nineteenth
century, the Cotswolds have played a prominent role in British art and artists.
Situated in what historian and author G.M. Trevelyan once described
as "the most beautiful village now left in the island", Campden
Gallery opened in 2003 and continues to exhibit a varied programme
of high quality modern and contemporary works of fine art.
Housed within a beautifully preserved 300 year old limestone building in
the centre of Chipping Campden, nestled in the depths of quintessential
English countryside, the gallery specialises in painting and sculpture embracing
figurative to fully abstract work.
Throughout the year, the Campden Gallery features solo and group
exhibitions, providing a showcase for recognised artists and a seedbed for
exciting, emerging talent from all across the UK and Ireland.
