Set
in the market place in the beautiful village of Castle Combe, The Castle
Inn can trace its origins back to the 12th century and many features
of the original construction remain today.
The hotel derives its name from the castle which once looked down upon the
village and was, over the centuries, an ancient British hill fort and Roman
fortress before the castle was built during Norman occupation.
The Inn has undergone careful and considerate restoration. Great care has
been taken to preserve and enhance the charm of this lovely building whilst
ensuring that guests enjoy the utmost comfort and attention to detail.
Oliver's Restaurant, named after Cromwell, who once took refuge from
Royalist troops within these walls, promises an evening to remember. This
elegant dining room offers the highest quality cuisine and fine wine served
in stylish and intimate surroundings.or why not eat in the friendly bar,
with roaring fires in the winter enjoying the ambience of the cat memorabilia,
which the owners have collected over the years.
The conservatory and patio, open for breakfast, morning coffee, light lunches,
afternoon tea and evening meals is also available for wedding receptions
and private functions.
