Vinegar Hill's quirky name was derived from a signpost in New Zealand which pointed to the small market town of Vinegar Hill. It is also the name of a place in Ireland, which consequently brings many curious Irish tourists to the shop.
Boasting a huge variety of designs and styles, this “lifestyle emporium” encompasses stylised children's clothes, coordinated table linens, artifacts, home accessories and furnishings, all of which are quite unique.
There are three Vinegar Hill shops, one here in Stratford upon Avon plus similar outlets in Bath and Shrewsbury.
They are all under the direction of founder Beth Austin and her sister Deborah who, using Beth's background in interior design, have created impressive shop interiors in which to browse the multitude of products on display.
The Austin sisters enjoy buying things that they personally like and their mix of products have instant appeal to small children and adults.
Vinegar Hill is a must for gifts or personal household items, many of which are handcrafted.
